Fanø Maritime School

Hotel Fanø was originally an old maritime school that was built in the early 1980s. The maritime school was a large school complex spanning over 5,200 m2, including two wings with a total of 50 rooms. In 1982, it started with 112 students, 12 more than the school was designed for, but a few rooms were converted to accommodate everyone.

The maritime school closed in 2004, and the buildings were subsequently used as a boarding school until 2014.

In 2015, Fanø Vadehav Center moved into the buildings and established a large hotel and conference center. However, they had to suspend operations after just one year. The buildings were later separated, and the current premises of the hotel were purchased by a local group of investors in 2018, who have since leased the operation of the hotel.
